Overall Team Trade Scores (As of now) (Last 15 Teams)

By Bobby Bauders

Montreal Canadiens: n/a

The Habs have kept quiet. Expect that to change. They’re actively going after Patrick Sharp, probably shopping Plekanec.

Nashville Predators: n/a

Preds are also quiet. Could change, but no sign points that way.

New Jersey Devils: B-

The Devils slightly overpaid for Palmieri, but he is a great addition.

New York Islanders: A-

The Isles acquired a first round pick AND a second round pick from Edmonton for Griffin Reinhart. Great trade.

New York Rangers: C+

The Rangers received maybe half of Hagelin’s value in Etem. Way underpaid. Then, they only got 2 second round picks for Talbot when the original asking price was a first rounder and prospects. Way to hold your ground Glen Sather. Also, that trade with Chicago? Pointless.

Ottawa Senators: B+

The Sens got a decent return in their trades with Buffalo.

Philadelphia Flyers: B-

The Flyers draft pick trade with Toronto was stupid. They gave up a second round pick to move up 5 spots. Not the brightest thing to do. But somehow, Hextall made magic. He got Sam Gagner plus a pick for Chris Pronger and Grossman. Then, somehow convinced the Bruins that Zac Rinaldo was worth a 3rd round pick? Wow.

Pittsburgh Penguins: n/a

It’s not if the Pens make a trade, it’s when.

San Jose Sharks: B

They got what they could from Niemi who wasn’t going to re-sign. Now they need a goaltender. Heard they’re still in the hunt for Bieska, thought I’d share that. If Vancouver hadn’t traded Lack, maybe he would’ve been in a package, but that’t clearly not happening.

St. Louis Blues: n/a

Oshie will be gone by Friday most likely.

Tampa Bay Lightning: B-

The only trade they made was a draft pick trade with the Isles.

Toronto Maple Leafs: B

Nothing but draft picks and lower level roster players. Oh and Kessel and Phaneuf are still on the team. I still don’t think they’ll be traded until mid-season. But, we’ll see.

Vancouver Canucks: n/a

Nothing significant.

Washington Capitals: n/a

Heard they’re still in on Sharp.

Winnipeg Jets: n/a

Haven’t heard anything from Winnipeg other than Byfuglien. Maybe they think they’re good for the season? Never count yourself good in the Western Conference, especially as the bottom seed.
